Online Event | Point to Point: Art and Digital Connectivity

To mark the 10th year of the Purita Kalaw-Ledesma (PKL) Prizes in Art Criticism, the Ateneo Art Gallery (AAG) and the Kalaw-Ledesma Foundation, Inc. (KLFI) are pleased to present the online discussion “Point to Point: Art and Digital Connectivity” to take place on 27 June 2023 (Tuesday) from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM via Zoom and Facebook live stream.

“Point to Point: Art and Digital Connectivity” is the first installment in a series of talks that will delve into the state and relevance of art criticism today. This session will explore the changing formats and platforms in art criticism, their transformations, and iterations in the digital world. In what ways do art writers produce text? How do writers, publishers, and publics engage in producing digital and online ‘content’? How do such practices challenge notions of individual authorship? What are the potentials for global reach or access?

Speakers of this event include HG Masters, Deputy Editor of the contemporary art periodical ArtAsiaPacific, and Vera Mey, co-founder of the modern and contemporary art journal Southeast of Now: Directions in Contemporary and Modern Art. They will be joined by past PKL Prize recipients Carla Gamalinda, Pristine De Leon, and Portia Placino, who have explored the interface of art and technology in their writing and are keen on engaging with digital and online forms of circulation.

This talk is open to the public for FREE. To attend, register at: go.ateneo.net/DigitalConnectivity
