Ciwas Tahos identifies their practice as a visual artist. Their practice thinks through Atayal self-determination in space and presence. For Leaps, Changes, Conditions, Ciwas’ The Land in the Middle of a Pond considers the Atayal people’s displacement in northern Taiwan and their relationship to their surrounding flora.

For this artist talk, Ciwas will discuss their background in performance as well as their long-term engagement with the Atayal people.
