Tidal Rifts: Art, Cinema and Solidarity in East and Southeast Asia is a dynamic artistic initiative organized by the Goethe-Institut in collaboration with art researchers and scholars from East and Southeast Asia. This project aims to deepen and challenge our understanding of how art has shaped internal and external relations in the region. By commissioning fresh research, supporting ongoing studies, and republishing prior work, the project seeks to reveal the hidden currents of cultural exchange. The focus is on underexplored ideas and historical as well as contemporary insights that emerge from the region’s artistic interactions.
