Paper Conservation: Lecture & Workshop
October 25 & 26, 2024
KL Tower, 117 Gamboa St.
Legaspi Village, Makati City
Limited to 20 slots per program
The Purita Kalaw-Ledesma (PKL) Center is excited to announce the return of its paper conservation workshop series. Following the success of our workshops in 2018, we are once again offering hands-on experience for those interested in conserving paper-based materials.
Program A: Lecture-demonstration on prints conservation
Facilitated by Ephraim “Eddie” Jose
Friday, 25 October, 2024
9:30 am to 3:00 pm
Ephraim “Eddie” Jose will demonstrate paper conservation treatments using selected prints from the KLFI collection.
Program B: Clamshell box making workshop
Facilitated by Emma M. Rey
Saturday, 26 October, 2024
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Emma M. Rey will give a hands-on workshop on making clamshell boxes. These boxes are protective enclosures used for storing books, photos, and other loose items.
Both programs are free and open to the public! We especially encourage museum and library professionals, cultural workers, and students from related fields to participate.
Due to limited slots available, we will be accommodating registrations based on a first-register, first-served basis.
This workshop series is a public outreach initiative for the “Conservation of Purita Kalaw-Ledesma (PKL) Scrapbooks (vols. 69-73)”, supported by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
